Hi everyone! Lately I’ve been trying to upgrade my fashion game by learning to mix and match prints. Mixing and matching prints and colour blocking looks so chic and bold when done right. It’s definitely out of my comfort zone but I’ve been loving the learning process. If you’re looking to learn how to mix and match prints, start off small then go bigger! Here are some tips on how to get you started:
1. Mix prints in the same color scheme
A great way to get started is so mix and match patterns in the same color family. It was definitely out of my comfort zone to mix this plaid baker boy hate with this striped top, but since both are black and white, the overall outfit still looks cohesive.
2. Start with pairing small simple prints
Another great way to get started is by starting with small simple prints and to avoid prints that are too busy. Think traditional plaids, polkadots and stripes. Once you’re comfortable with that, you can move onto bolder patterns 🙂
3. Try traditional print combos
A great source for inspiration is Pinterest! Some easy go-to pattern combos include: stripes + plaid, polkadots + plaid, polkadots + stripes.
